Introduction
The primary mission of Laczkó Dezső Museum is to explore, preserve, and share the cultural and historical values of the city of Veszprém and its county.
The museum places special emphasis on military history, the past of Veszprém, open-air ethnographic exhibitions and collections, national minority traditions, and landscape research. It also collects contemporary artifacts and actively collaborates with contemporary glass artists, maintaining a nationwide collection of glass art.
It is an institution in continuous dialogue with local communities, involving them in the discovery and presentation of their heritage. Beyond simply showcasing collections, the museum is committed to sustainable preservation and meaningful use.
Through its research and exhibitions, the museum responds to current social issues and encourages reflection.
In addition to its core cultural mission, the museum actively engages in experiential knowledge-sharing and, based on its collection, contributes to the creative industries by developing competitive products and services. It constantly seeks new, enjoyable, engaging, and creative approaches, positioning itself as an innovative, family-friendly institution.
Above all, the museum considers it its fundamental duty to enrich, preserve, and ensure unrestricted access to the cultural heritage entrusted to its care—for present and future generations alike.
