Sail Away! Amateur Sailing Community Program and Race Series in Balatonfűzfő Active (Sports and Movement) Balatonfűzfő Would you like to experience what real competitive sailing is like? The goal of the “Sail Away!” program is to give participants a firsthand look at the world of competitive sailing and to let them experience firsthand the difference between recreational sailing and active competitive sailing. During the program, we organize sporty sailing workshops and amateur course races using Jeanneau 349-class cruising yachts, which can accommodate 12 people and are also suitable for racing. Participants do not take part in the program as passive passengers, but can try their hand at being active members of the crew. During the sessions, everyone can learn about: - the boat’s structure, - basic safety rules, - deck duties, - handling the sails, - using ropes and winches, - as well as the basics of racing situations. Each session begins with a theoretical briefing at the marina, after which participants can try their hand at specific deck positions. During the practical sailing sessions, the continuous rotation of tasks allows everyone to gain experience in multiple roles. Each session concludes with an amateur regatta. Important Information - Participation is free. - Maximum capacity per session: 30 people. - The program requires advance registration. - Participants will be accepted in the order of registration. - Families and groups of friends may register together. - Each person may participate in the program only once. - Minimum age: 16 years. - Participants under 18 may participate only in the presence of a parent or legal guardian. - The ability to swim is required to participate in the water tour. Please bring a change of clothes, white-soled shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, a cap or hat, sunglasses, and, in cooler weather, a windbreaker or waterproof clothing.
