Hit the Ice! - 1st Ajka Ice Olympics

Attention, skaters! The time to put your skills to the test has arrived!

Sportváros Nonprofit Kft. has received funding as part of the Veszprém–Balaton European Region of Sport 2026 program to organize Hit the Ice! – 1st Ajka Ice Olympics. This means that a three-round, exciting ice rink competition series, in which teams of six can test their skills and speed against one another. There are no restrictions on the composition of the 6-person teams based on age or gender.

The competition series will be announced in 2026 for 4 target groups over 3 competition days:
• Elementary school students – up to 9 teams (with weekday competition days)
• High school students — up to 9 teams (with weekday competition days)
• Company/workplace teams — up to 6 teams (with weekday competition days)
• Community teams (families, groups of friends) — up to 6 teams (with weekend competition days)

• 9:00–9:45 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m., October 3 (Saturday) - Community teams

• 9:00 a.m.–9:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m.–10:45 a.m., 11:00 a.m.–11:45 a.m., 12:00 p.m.–12:45 p.m., 1:00–1:45 p.m. October 7 (Wednesday) - Elementary and middle school teams; corporate teams

■ ROUND 2:

• 9:00–9:45 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m., October 17 (Saturday) - Community teams

• 9:00–9:45 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m., 11:00–11:45 a.m., 12:00–12:45 p.m., 1:00–1:45 p.m., October 21 (Wednesday) - Elementary and Middle School Teams; Corporate Teams

• 9:00–9:45 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m., 11:00–11:45 a.m., 12:00–12:45 p.m., 1:00 PM–1:45 p.m., November 18 (Wednesday) - Elementary and Middle School Teams; Corporate Teams

• 9:00–9:45 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m., November 28 (Saturday) - Community teams

Competition procedures and entry requirements:
• Basic skating skills are sufficient for participation. On the track set up on the ice, participants will face not only speed challenges but also agility tasks.
• A team can expect to spend about 40 minutes on the ice on a typical competition day.
• We will send out a video briefing on the relay race tasks in advance.
• During the week leading up to the competition, we will provide an opportunity to prepare at a prearranged time.
• Registration is free of charge.
• Skates and helmets will be provided by the organizer, Sportváros Nonprofit Kft.
• One medical staff member will be on site during the competitions.

Awards:
• Every participant will receive a branded gift bag.
• The top three teams will receive trophies and certificates.
• Every member of the top three teams will receive a medal, a pair of public skating passes to the ice rink, and a gift voucher worth 10,000 HUF

Registration deadline:
• Elementary and middle schools: September 11 (Friday)
• Companies and the general public: September 18, 2026 (Friday)
