Memorial Day for the Martyrs of Arad

On Monday, October 6, 2025, at 12:00 noon, a commemorative ceremony will be held in Balatonfüred in honor of the martyrs of the 1848-49 War of Independence. The event will take place at the Martyrs of Arad Park, where the community, students, and tradition keepers will gather to pay their respects to the heroes.

Krisztina Papp, principal of the Radnóti Miklós Elementary School in Balatonfüred, will give a ceremonial speech at the event.
The school's students will also participate, reciting poems and performing music to commemorate the history of the martyrs of Arad, as well as the Reform Era Tradition Preservation Society, who will make the event even more authentic with period clothing and props.

At the end of the commemoration, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the memorial.
