Introduction
Balatonfüred is one of the most popular resort towns on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, where active recreation and cultural heritage blend harmoniously. Alongside its Mediterranean atmosphere, healing springs, and historic villas, the town offers a wide range of outdoor activities: running, cycling, hiking, and sailing. Tagore Promenade, the Jókai Villa, Vaszary Gallery, and the Reform Era district all contribute to an experience that combines the closeness of nature with rich cultural values.
Location & Accessibility
Balatonfüred is accessible by road via Highway M7 and Route 71, and by rail on the Budapest–Tapolca line. The town center—home to most of the tourist attractions—is easy to explore on foot. The proximity of the train station and bus terminal ensures convenient arrival, while the town’s promenades and bike paths make it easy to get around between locations.
