The main character is Professor Dr. György Romhányi, an academic who had already become a legend in his own lifetime—a professor of pathology, a medical examiner—or, as he called himself, a “prosector”—who became a legend in an era when there was no internet, or social media—only enthusiastic followers could pass on his intellectual legacy by word of mouth.

For future generations, the duty to “preserve this legacy” is inescapable. We wish to bring the past of the “great ones” We wish to bring the past into the present, but rather to place it in the future, where the mind of knowledge, wisdom, and humor make it enduring. Over the course of twenty-five years, his recollections—mostly “oral tradition” have been greatly refined and, in a welcome way, have made the legacy of the legendary Professor’s intellectual spirit.
