Permanent programs at Folly Arboretum

Folly Arboretum's permanent programs are available throughout the year, offering nature experiences in Badacsonyörs, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The aim of the programs is to enable visitors to explore the arboretum's unique plants independently or in a playful, interactive way.

As part of the permanent offer, discovery and educational programs await families, kids, and adults. Visitors can take part in a self-guided arboretum walk, where a marked trail and information points help them explore the garden, as well as playful experiences.

The programs include:

• the interactive game Investigate in Folly!
• Acorn hunting and acorn shooting,
• Fairy Tale World,
• and Folly Matinee, available during the summer season, which operates as a free kids' program.

For those interested in evening experiences, the Light Painting Garden Walk offers a special atmosphere where the play of light and shadow reveals the arboretum from a new perspective. The dates of the light painting walks are aligned with the opening hours and sunset. Regular programs are available during the arboretum's opening hours without prior reservation. Folly Arboretum's restaurant is located in Badacsonyörs, within the arboretum grounds, and welcomes visitors all year round with a gastronomic selection based on seasonal, local ingredients. The restaurant is a natural complement to a visit to the arboretum and cannot be visited separately, being only accessible from within the garden area. The menu is renewed twice a year and features fresh bistro-style dishes, homemade juices, coffee specialties, desserts, and wines from Folly winery. The restaurant has indoor seating and panoramic terraces where visitors can dine while enjoying views of Lake Balaton. During the warmer months, the restaurant also has a grill terrace, which offers light, seasonal dishes. The gastronomic offerings are also linked to seasonal wine dinners and themed events, which complement the arboretum's program offerings.
