From August 27–29, a special atmosphere will once again take over Veszprém and Balatonfüred: Veszprém–Balaton Film Picnic, hosted by internationally renowned actress and cinematographer Andrea Osvárt. Three days of open-air screenings, film discussions, meet-and-greets, and Balaton-style summer festivities await movie lovers. 

Are you familiar with the iconic towers of the Inota power plants in Várpalota? In August, in this unique industrial setting, international performers and stunning light art installations will welcome visitors: from August 13–24, the Fényerőmű 2026 exhibition will showcase contemporary works of light and media art, and from August 27–30, INOTA Festival returns with international DJs and spectacular light installations. Classical music lovers can attend the Auer Festival in Veszprém through August 9; this year marks the 12th edition of the festival, held in memory of world-renowned, Veszprém-born violinist and music educator Lipót Auer. In early August, Paloznak will once again take center stage: Paloznak Jazz Picnic will feature three days of exceptional music and programs, where you can enjoy performances by Rick Astley, Gregory Porter, and Earth, Wind & Fire Experience. Imagine sitting on a picnic blanket with a glass of wine in your hand, a magnificent panoramic view of Lake Balaton right in front of you, and live jazz music playing in the background. Veszprém Castle offers a magnificent view even in broad daylight, but after sunset, it takes on an even more special atmosphere. Don’t miss the evening programs organized by the Archdiocese of Veszprém, which feature special themed walks, film screenings, and the Light and Wonder walk, you can explore the historic sites.
