8 Jókai St, Veszprém (land title No. 199) - Ruttner House is a nationally protected monument building that stood unused until now. The aim of the development was to renovate the building and to use it as an exhibition space, hostel-type accommodation, as well as to build a lift and a visitor centre to provide access to the dungeon. This objective has been fully achieved.
The project has been completed successfully, both physically and financially. The planned investment is aimed primarily at the younger generation. The planned development of the property concerned will provide a venue worthy of the programme, which will contribute to the creation of a modern urban environment in the centre of Veszprém, also in the long term after the European Capital of Culture.
The 'Human Behind Bars' exhibition is part of the 'Dungeon Visitor Centre'. Access to the Visitor' Centre is via lift from the 'Gift Shop, Ticket Office and Hostel' in the Ruttner House at 8 Jókai Street, and from Sziklay János Street via the Castle Wall Walk. The 'Castle Dungeon Visitor Centre' development consists of three development elements: the exhibition ('Human Behind Bars'), the entrance ('Gift Shop, Ticket Office and Hostel') and the exit ('Castle Wall Walk').
