Introduction
The Veszprém Old Town Square is the historical and cultural center of the city, which has been the scene of public life for centuries. The octagonal square used to serve as a market square, but today it is a permanent venue for fairs, festivals, and city events.
Strolling among the Art Nouveau and Baroque buildings of the square, you can learn about the history of Veszprém: here you will find the former Matulka House, the city's first town hall, and the Arany Sas Pharmacy, which still operates as a pharmacy today. Rákóczi Street, which connects to the square, is the remaining section of the former Main Street, lined with historic and Baroque houses. The Old Town Square is located in the inner city of Veszprém.
