Lovas

Lovas is located on the northern shore of the Balaton Uplands, at the gateway to Királykút Valley, with centuries-old mills on streams and picturesque vineyards. One of the oldest paint quarries, used 30-40,000 years ago, operated here, and its archaeological finds have been preserved. The village is characterized by a stone-built church constructed in the 13th century and then rebuilt in Baroque style (1754). As part of the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region, the settlement is now also characterized by rural tourism. The local equestrian club actively promotes equestrian sports and organizes amateur show jumping competitions, beauty and carriage driving demonstrations several times a year with the assistance of professionals and ambulance attendance.

Lovas can be reached via Alsóörs, via Route 71, via Paloznak, or from Veszprém via Felsőörs. Buses serving the settlement run from Balatonfüred, Alsóörs, and Veszprém.
