Introduction

The Biró-Giczey House is located in the historic center of Veszprém, in the castle district. The building is a Baroque-era canon's house, which today serves cultural and community functions. The people of Veszprém once called the house Madaras House, because wonderful birds can be seen on the ceilings of its Baroque rooms. The house is home to the Veszprém Archdiocese Tourist Center (VETK), which welcomes visitors with temporary exhibitions, themed displays, events, and information services. The inner courtyard and the shop provide a special atmosphere, making it an ideal venue for cultural events.

Accessibility

The house is located at the entrance to the castle, near the Heroes' Gate, right next to the castle wall. It can be reached on foot from the city center and the South Valley in about 10-15 minutes. Paid parking is available in the vicinity of Vár Street and Jókai Street.The main entrance to the building is narrow, but the interior spaces have been partially made barrier-free.
