Balatonakarattya - Magaspart

Magaspart, also known as Kisfaludy Promenade, is one of the most natural vantage points in the eastern basin of Lake Balaton. It offers a breathtaking panorama, allowing visitors to admire a huge section of the northern and southern shores of Lake Balaton, and on a clear day, you can even see as far as Tihany.
It is also called the Sea Coast because it looks as if the sea is spreading out before us, and we may feel as if we are standing above the water.
A beautifully designed wooden viewing terrace awaits visitors on the terrace. There are benches in several places on the grassy area between the road and the edge of the high bank, where you can lie down on the grass and even have a picnic.
Here you can also find the remains of the 400-year-old Rákóczi elm tree. According to local legend, Prince Rákóczi tied his horse to this tree and proclaimed the "will of the people" here. This tree then served as a landmark for sailors on Lake Balaton, and was considered the border between Somogy and Veszprém counties. The huge tree was destroyed by lightning and a storm, and today only its stump remains. In 2005, the local government planted a small elm tree in its place.
