Bakonybél Country Museum
Built in the mid-19th century, the two residential buildings are connected by an arched gate, behind which a surprising sight awaits visitors: an Indian teepee. Before we get an explanation for this, it is worth taking a look at the ethnographic exhibition in the main house, which shows the living conditions of a typical Bakonybél farmer a hundred years ago. You can learn about the history, tools, and traditions of woodworking in the Bakony region. The smaller building still has its original open-hearth kitchen with a stove. In addition to temporary exhibitions, you can also see an exhibition presenting the history of the Bakony Indian game, once associated with the name of Tamás Cseh, which is still played today. A tour guide accompanies every visitor to the Country Museum through the exhibitions, making them feel at home and welcome. Occasionally, craft demonstrations and activities take place in the courtyard. It is worth starting your exploration of the village here, where the hostesses provide detailed information about the village's sights, hiking trails, and programs, and you can also obtain the necessary maps on site.
