Introduction

The Africa Museum is located on the outskirts of Balatonederics, and it uniquely evokes the atmosphere of fairy-tale Africa on the shores of Lake Balaton. The museum was founded by Dr. Endre Nagy, an African hunter who lived in Tanzania for decades and brought his collection home in 1984. The exhibition features several hundred trophies, ethnographic objects, weapons, furniture, and personal relics, including lion, leopard, elephant, and rhinoceros specimens. The museum is surrounded by a mini safari park, home to zebras, camels, ostriches, buffalo, and fallow deer. Visitors can enjoy huts, an observation tower, a playground, a gift shop, and a café. The place is especially popular with families with young children.

Visitors can encounter many different animals on the museum grounds. Afrika Múzeum Facebook
