What is the difference between a lamb, a ewe, and a sheep? Which animal does the shepherd put a bell on? How is the shorn fleece turned into soft, fluffy woolen clothing? And what are some practical uses for wool today?
Our exhibition traces the journey of wool from the pasture to the loom—and beyond. Sheep farming artifacts and curiosities, the wool processing procedure, and the countless unique properties of the fibers together provide a comprehensive picture of this versatile raw material, which we should continue to value and use to this day.
In addition to the museum’s collection, visitors can also view works by textile artist Judit Miklós; in fact, our visitors can even help shape the exhibition space themselves. Come and find out how!
