N.N. the Angel of Death

György Korin (Miklós Gábor) is the country’s most popular psychologist and has his own TV show. He is just about to launch a new, large-scale series when word spreads that he has died in an accident. The man is in no hurry to dispel the rumors; he watches with curiosity to see how his relatives, friends, students, and even tunes in to a TV talk show dedicated to him. When the mistake is revealed, his offended colleague and rival, Károly Matheidesz-Máté (László Mensáros) cancels his appearance on the new show, and it also comes to light that his wife (Éva Ruttkai) wants to divorce him.

János Herskó’s last production before emigrating is, behind the guise of genre, an infinitely personal, ironic artistic reckoning and a self-reflective cinematic farewell.
