Eszter (Vivien Rujder) is a successful actress who plays the lead role in a romantic comedy alongside womanizer Bálint (Tamás Szabó Kimmel). In real life, however, the two actors playing the lovers can’t stand each other. At the end of shooting, Eszter unexpectedly suffers an accident and falls into a coma due to a head injury. And as if that weren’t enough, it turns out that the movie’s plot has become mixed up with reality in her mind: Eszter believes she is living in the 1990s, that she is a hairdresser, and that she is in love with Bálint, who is searching for her. Her doctor (Lia Pokorny) instructs that she must be kept in this state of mind so that her emotional stability isn’t compromized. However, over time, they realize that maintaining the appearance of the 1990s is much harder than they initially thought. The situation isn’t made any easier by headstrong Bálint, nor by Eszter’s fiancé (Barna Bányai Kelemen), who wants to get his fiancée back as soon as possible and go through with their wedding.
