It can take flight from the glowing ember of a cigarette, or be born amid the crackling of a burning pile of leaves on a damp autumn afternoon. It can rise into the sky as a result of the ominous just as much as a wisp of smoke that gently warms the soul like a child.

It envelops you, covers you, affects your senses, and then dissipates. Seemingly without a trace, yet it lingers in your pores, almost tickling the skin, and you can still feel it on yourself for a long time.

It can simultaneously evoke ecstasy, overwhelming emotions, sensuality, and a peaceful, intimate closeness.

Just like music itself…

Lia Pokorny’s musical performance was also inspired by this duality. Her well-known, exciting, and sensual songs , built on ethereal piano accompaniment, original and humorous spoken-word interludes, and the smoky voice that flows from song to song. A sound that at times scratches and at other times gently caresses, guiding listeners through the chords of the performance.

The atmosphere is evoked by, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, Gershwin, Edith Piaf, Nat King Cole, György G. Dénes, and Zsuzsa Cserháti.

The performance lasts 70 minutes without an intermission
