The beauty of change - parallel cycles
- Women's life stages in the mirror of nature
For me, nature is the greatest source of inspiration. In it, I see divine order and perfection alongside all its imperfections and irregularities. In it, I discover parallels with the biology of female life. I believe and experience that it is very difficult for women in Western society today to live out their ancient feminine attributes. For example, harmony. Women, like nature, are constantly changing, unpredictable, capricious, passionate, unruly, multifaceted—yet our society increasingly emphasizes rationality, regulation, technology, moving further and further away from nature, depriving ourselves of so much uplifting energy, ritual, and rhythm. Spirit and matter are not opposed to each other, but should form a unity. In my art, I experience this connection and harmony. My paintings are not statements, but questions based on my own subjective experiences. Can we still return to the Earth? How did the older generation connect with my generation and the younger ones? About the performance:
I have long wanted to combine visual art with movement, contemporary dance, and a few years ago, an idea came to me. I knew I couldn't do it alonealone, but together with other amateur dancers and some professional help, in order to create a true work of art. I found inspiring and open-minded partners in the teachers of the Footnotes Dance Association and two of my friends. The inspiration came from the music of the French documentary film The Oak Tree - Heart of the Forest, a brilliant work by Cyrille Auforte. The choreography is a joint creation, incorporating all of our thoughts, feelings, and movements on the theme of femininity and nature.
