Earth and Iron

Tamás Buvári’s film, based on true events, takes place across three time periods: 1947, 1985, and 2025, and explores various forms of separation from home: the expulsion of Germans from Hungary after World War II, the resettlement of Hungarian citizens from Transylvania in the 1980s, and the wave of migration toward Western Europe in the 2020s. Driven by external and internal pressures, the main characters leave their homes to pursue their dreams in a foreign country. While they focus primarily on spiritual survival, underworld figures cross their paths, and their physical existence is put at risk.
