We welcome interested families to this program, which features interactive activities and a dance workshop. Participants can learn about folk art, traditions, and kids' games from days gone by.

7:45 PM Szilvia Bognár: We Build It from Sound, Words, and Heritage
What can people today say through the language of folk songs and folk music, when the world of traditional peasant culture seems increasingly distant? They create and assemble their own music and songs, just as the elders once did: from sound, from words, and, of course, from the legacy they received from them. Szilvia Bognár and her creative partners continue to bring to life today heartwarming folk songs and folk music that are still relevant today, and they highlight the journey of a particular period’s dance melody spanning the centuries, all the way to the bagpipe music collected in the 20th century from the region beyond the Danube or even a Kalotaszeg csárdás. Through their music, the rich and diverse musical culture shaped by the people of Szatmár comes to life, while the blood-pumping Moldavian tunes are also taken to a new dimension. The concert was made possible with the support of the NKA Béla Halmos Program Committee.
