This Open University lecture focuses on a unique archaeological discovery that offers a glimpse into the famous Inota burial mounds and a world filled with grave gardens and burial chambers. The rich collection of artifacts unearthed from deep within the earth—jewelry, pottery, and glassware shed light on the area’s 4th-century prosperity. What makes this discovery unique is that, despite intensive mining activity, the collection of artifacts was found largely intact, thereby providing an excellent opportunity to learn about the daily life and beliefs of a bygone era.
