Faith, courage, solidarity – a true story from the Castle Prison
The event entitled "Magdolna Mária Bódi's beatification - Humanity in inhumanity" will take place at the Visitor Center at the Dungeon, Veszprém, on September 5, 2025, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. During the guided tour, visitors will learn about the arrest of József Mindszenty, Bishop of Veszprém and twenty-six priests, which took place in November 1944 on the orders of the Arrow Cross regime.
The exhibition is particularly connected to the beatification of Mária Magdolna Bódi, as it was Bishop Mindszenty who began the process of beatification at the diocesan level for the martyr in 1945. Visitors can experience the history of humanity demonstrated in the face of inhumanity in an environment enriched with interactive elements.
The program can be visited with a supplementary ticket costing 1000 HUF, purchased in addition to the admission ticket to the exhibition.
Please arrive at the Visitor Center at the Castle at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour!
