Hiking Route:
Start
We start our hike in Szentantalfa and pass through beautiful landscapes on our way to our first stop.
Hegyestű
After the church, a short climb awaits us, followed by an easy ride down to Monoszló. Along the way, it’s worth looking to the left, because from here, Hegyestű reveals a side from the north that few people see, since people usually view it either from the shore or from very close up. We’ll have the chance to do the latter, too, as we’ll climb up to Hegyestű, to the summit of the range.
Köveskál, Szentbékkkálla
From here we head toward Köveskál, with the hills getting closer and closer: this is the real Balaton Uplands. We drive through Köveskál, then turn north toward Szentbékkálla, where we park our electric bikes by the stone sea to check out the Szentbékkálla Swaying Rock.
Kékkút
We leave the village of Mindszentkálla behind and our next stop is Kékkút, at the spring, where we’ll taste the “raw” Theodora mineral water.
Kővágóörs, Révfülöp, Zánka, Szentantalfa
Next comes Kővágörs, from where, after a short climb, we roll down toward Révfülöp with a view of Lake Balaton, but not quite to the bike path, but 40–50 meters above Lake Balaton’s surface; we ride along the hillside to the outskirts of Balatonszepezd, then follow the bike path to Zánka. Here we say goodbye to the first half of the group; the rest of us still have a long climb ahead to Szentantalfa, but don’t worry—you won’t even notice it after 45 kilometers.
The tour departs if at least 4 people sign up.
