Music Hungary Association
The professional umbrella organization for Hungarian pop music.
The Music Hungary Association was founded in 2017 following the Music Hungary Conference, which has been held annually since 2012, with the aim of bringing together players in the domestic music industry, initiate dialogue, and represent professional interests to decision-makers. The Association represents musicians, publishers, managers, clubs, festivals, promoters, and technical professionals.
Their activities include:
- supporting music exports,
- promoting talent development,
- strengthening the audience base,
- ensuring the sustainability of the Hangfoglal Program,
- lobbying for a reduction in the VAT on concert tickets,
- Fine-tuning music quotas in the media and on streaming platforms,
- professional cooperation with the film industry,
- participation in the reform of music education.
The Association organizes the annual Music Hungary Conference & Showcase, and since 2023, it has been awarding the Music Hungary Prize, which recognizes outstanding figures in Hungarian pop music not only performers, but also professionals working behind the scenes.
