Károly Horváth, known by his stage name Charlie, is one of the most distinctive performers in Hungarian pop music. His musical career began in the 1970s, first as a member of the band Generál, then he became nationally known during his solo career. He really broke through in the 1990s with hits such as "Jég dupla whiskyvel" (Ice with Double Whiskey), "Az légy, aki vagy" (Be Who You Are) and "Mennyből az angyal" (Angel from Heaven).
His target audience is broad: from music lovers to young people looking for a retro vibe, many are fans of his work. His art has been recognized with several awards, including the Liszt Ferenc Award and the Officer's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. Charlie is not only a singer but also a composer who has been an active participant in Hungarian musical life for several decades and continues to give sold-out concerts throughout the country.
