Mayflies
The notorious Hungarian contract killer of the 1930s, Pipás Pista, is arrested. While in prison, it is revealed that although Pipás has been living as a man, she was born a woman. Awaiting execution on death row, Pipás meets Irma, the agoraphobic daughter of the prison chaplain, who teaches her to read and write. Their relationship develops into a powerful bond, provoking the chaplain's disapproval. Despite her father's objections, Irma tries to secure a royal pardon for Pipás, a decision for which they both ultimately pay a heavy price.
