Introduction

Fonyód is one of the most rapidly developing towns on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, offering a wide range of activities for nature lovers, water sports enthusiasts, and fans of outdoor programs. The town’s twin hills, Várhegy and Sipos Hill, are excellent hiking destinations, providing a unique panoramic view of the monadnocks of the Tapolca Basin. This romantic small town offers a variety of sporting, cultural, and community experiences all year round.

Location & Accessibility

Fonyód is located at the 150th kilometer of Main Route 7 and is easily accessible from the M7 motorway. The train station in the town center handles significant long-distance and regional traffic. From here, the main tourist attractions can be reached on foot within 5–15 minutes. During the season, passenger boats regularly depart from the port toward Badacsony.
