The ILCA 7 World Sailing Championship in Ireland marked a historic Hungarian victory: at the competition held in Dublin Bay, Jonatán Vadnai secured the world championship gold medal in the Olympic class with a race victory on the final day. In an exceptionally close battle, he finished ahead of two-time Olympic and two-time world champion Matthew Wearn of Australia, as well as two-time European champion Michael Beckett of Great Britain, and stood on the top step of the podium.
