There are stories that simply must be told.
There are stories that are impossible to talk about. Sometimes these stories are the same. Now a woman speaks from among the nameless, about life, death, and love. The men speak of silence. About a life that goes up and down. About the vulnerability of kids. About the deadly maze we have built together, over thousands of years, boys and girls.
Dennis Kelly's characteristic tools are delay, increasing tension, and unpredictable twists and turns—anyone who can predict the plot of a Kelly play is capable of other depravities. Girls, Boys is a single aria with brilliant changes in tone, a stand-up tragedy: believe it or not, you will laugh out loud at times, and tears are not out of the question either. But that's why we go to the theater, isn't it?
Dennis Kelly is joining the team for the second time after Orphans. The play, originally titled Girls & Boys, premiered in London in 2018 and then toured the world. The award-winning English playwright's powerful three-dimensional female characters, is now being performed by one of the country's best-known and most versatile actresses, Rozi Lovas in a performance that Hungarian audiences can now see.
