On September 10,  Eötvös Károly Library will host the opening of the traveling roll-up exhibition titled “The Legacy of Hungarians in the United States,” which was created as part of an international collaboration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. 🤝

The exhibition presents the 250-year history of Hungarian emigration to the United States, key locations of Hungarian-American communities, and the personal and family stories that have shaped the history of Hungarian-American relations. 🥰

What makes this exhibition unique is that it presents historical processes not merely through dates and events, but through the stories of people, families, communities, and places.   📜

The project brings together Hungarian and American public collections, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and researchers to showcase the heritage of the Hungarian diaspora.

 📆Exhibition opening: 4:30 p.m., Thursday,  September 10, 2026

📍Location: Eötvös Károly Library, ground floor

The exhibition will be on view through October 2, 2026, during the library’s regular hours.

250 Years of American History—nearly 250 years of Hungarian stories in the United States. Let’s explore the personal side of Hungarian-American relations together!
