A season commemorating the 200th This season’s opening exhibition in Veszprém, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of photography, features the work of Árpád Kiss-Kuntler, who was honored in 2026 with the Photojournalist’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and presents an unconventional selection of his black-and-white photographs. The exhibition is an intimate confession that, through visual language and the articulation of recorded thoughts, conveys the impressions and moods that, as an intellectual legacy, have freely shaped the photographer’s self-expression over the years. Built as a tribute to the great predecessors and outstanding contemporaries, the “hommage” features artists (Claude Monet, Henri Rousseau, Le Corbusier), writers (Béla Hamvas, Krasznahorkai, Grimm, Asimov), and scientists (Attenborough, Carlo Rovelli, Stephen Hawking), whom the photojournalist regards as role models.

This project has been designated as part of the Bicentennial of Photography by the French Ministry of Culture and is included in the official program of the Bicentennial from September 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027.
