Challenge Day 2026

Playful challenges all day long: community movement, activity, fun. Join in and fill this Wednesday with movement too!

🏃 Challenge Day is one of Hungary's largest nationwide sports movements, which takes place every year on the last Wednesday of May, to encourage communities to engage in active exercise. The aim of the program is to encourage towns, workplaces, schools, communities, and organizations to make this day more sporty with playful challenges.

✨ The event is based on a tradition dating back several decades and offers participants a variety of activities throughout the country.

📅 Time frame: May 27, 2026, with recorded activities between 12:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (at least 15 minutes of continuous, heart rate-raising exercise).

🌐 National coverage: you can participate in events announced by local organizers; the public list will be available on the website.

🏫 Educational institutions: school/kindergarten exercise programs, themed activities; registration and organization at the institutional level on the website. 

🏙 Settlements: municipal/community sports days; evaluated based on the activity ratio relative to the population.

👥 Communities: civil, church, institutional, and fitness communities participate with their own programs. 

👴 Retirement organizations: can be nominated and rewarded in a separate category. 

🏢 Workplaces and law enforcement agencies: they are included in the evaluation in a separate category.

⏱ Activity definition: at least 15 minutes of continuous physical activity counts as one activity (longer periods also count as one).

🗂 Recording programs: local organizers upload the program schedule to the website, then reports and photos on the day of the competition. 

🏷 Categories for settlements: classes based on population (under 700 people → 70,000+ people), shared prize in case of identical results.

🏅 Results: available on the Results page as per national total category.
