Tihany is one of Hungary’s most beautifully situated towns, a village rich in spectacular scenery and natural features, situated on the Tihany Peninsula jutting into Lake Balaton. A famous local landmark that still exists today is Tihany Echo, which formed between Tihany Abbey and Echo Hill when there were no buildings to obstruct the sound’s free back-and-forth propagation.
