Start

We set off on our tour from the BB365 center in Balatonfüred, then upon reaching Tihany, we venture into the interior of the peninsula. We are immediately greeted by a fantastic array of scents and colors

Inner Lake, Lavender Fields, Watchtower Lookout, Ancient Lavender Field

We arrive at Akasztódomb market and soon leave the asphalt behind; next up are Belső-tó (Inner Lake), Lavender Field, and the Watchtower Lookout, which we reach on foot, leaving our bikes at the Ancient Lavender Field. Looking out from the latter, our day suddenly makes sense.

Balatonfüred, Lóczy Cave, Jókai Lookout

Rolling down to the western side of the peninsula, we ride just a few meters from Lake Balaton, pass by the romantic beach of Sajkod, and continue on toward Balatonfüred. It’s uphill again, but we can still enjoy the ride past Lóczy Cave near Jókai Lookout. We’ll reach the summit here on foot again.

Recsek Hill, Noszlopy Gáspár Lookout

A breather, taking in the panoramic views, then we roll northward along forest roads. After a short wait, however, we begin climbing again along the gas pipeline to Recsek Hill, the highlight of our tour. We can cycle all the way up here to take in the view from Noszlopy Gáspár Lookout Tower.

Király-kút spring, Csákány Hill lookout

A steeper descent follows, and we continue cycling along the forest roads, knowing that our next stop will be Király-kút Spring, where we’ll recharge our energy with the spring water. We’ll need it, though, as the fourth viewpoint, on Csákány Hill, promises the easiest route. The view from Csopak, however, will, again, not disappoint.

The cellars and wineries of Paloznak-Csopak

On the way back, we won’t be climbing any hills, so we’ll roll along easily through the cellars and wineries of Paloznak-Csopak. If the opportunity arises and the situation calls for it, we’ll pop into one of them for a quick glass of wine.
