Overview

Anna Varsányi’s monodrama commemorates the love story of the two Mexican painters, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, with plenty of humor, humanity, and music. An excerpt from the play: “He’s still asleep. He’s snoring terribly, but he looks so beautiful with his double chin spilling across the pillow. At times like this, you can’t see his eyes, which are turned in different directions; only his beautiful, sparsely clustered eyelashes. When he’s awake, he looks just like an overweight tree frog.
