Spring Break in Veszprém and the Bakony-Balaton Region – Make Every Day a Memorable One

Spring break begins on April 2, giving you 10 days to escape the daily grind and recharge with new experiences—luckily, there’s plenty to choose from in Veszprém and the surrounding area right now.

Spring break is the perfect opportunity to discover the most exciting events in the city and the region— whether it’s festive programs, cultural events, digital experiences, family outings, active recreation, or even culinary adventures.

The previously hidden gardens of Veszprém’s castle district will open at Easter

Discover the unique castle wall in the castle district of Veszprém, from where you can see not only the city’s panorama and Baroque buildings, but also into gardens that have been closed to the public until now. At Easter, for three days, you can enter the Archbishop’s Palace on a guided tour, where you can also learn about plants significant to the Bible and Christian tradition. The gardens of the Major Seminary and the Baroque courtyard of Biró-Giczey House are open year-round, while the Archbishop’s Palace garden can only be viewed during Lent on guided tours.

Would you like to embark on a special musical journey?

On April 4, FOTON Audiovisual Center will host the Sun & Moon event, which offers a unique musical experience based on the changing scents, lights, and times of day, featuring performances by Metha, George Jr., and Andy Kraft.

Spring has arrived at CODE, too!

At CODE, immersive experiences will once again take center stage: spectacular audiovisual presentations, digital installations, 360-degree spatial experiences, and 3D screenings await visitors during spring break. On April 5, Easter Sunday, following the previous Christmas production, Zoltán Mizsei returns, bringing to you the solemn atmosphere of the holiday with Gregorian chant for the Easter season.

Uncover the secrets of the past with the help of the Dungeon

For those interested in history, the Dungeon has exciting programs in store for this spring as well, during which even the darkest secrets of the past may be revealed. On April 4, Chilling Crime Stories is on program, and between April 6 and 10, they will feature family searches in which you can follow in the footsteps of famous outlaws, bandits, or even great prison breaks.

At CODE Creator, creativity takes center stage even during the spring break

If you want to spend your spring break in a truly creative spirit, don’t miss CODE Creator’s upcoming events.  On April 4, you can take part in an Easter egg hunt spiced up with a little robotics, and on April 5, you can not only design but also print out and take home the most beautiful 3D Easter decorations.

Kabóca Puppet Theater is celebrating its 25th anniversary

To mark this special occasion, the theater is offering a 25% discount every month for residents of a specific district of Veszprém — in April for residents of Jutaspuszta and the Jutasi Road housing estate. During spring break, you can choose from several performances: April 4 The Poor Fisherman and His Greedy Wife and The Story of the Cherry Tree, on April 7 the Stone Soup awaits theater lovers.
