Party in the heart of the basalt mine – the Crater Festival is coming

At the end of August, the Haláp Hill crater in the Balaton Uplands will once again come alive: the Hello Wood team will organize the Crater Festival for the third time, one of the most unique boutique festivals in Hungary. Anyone who has been here before knows that partying in the depths of an abandoned basalt mine is something else entirely—not only the view, but also the atmosphere is unforgettable.

Music stars from the depths

This year's line-up is a real treat: the festival's latest big announcement is that one of the brightest stars of the Hungarian hip-hop scene this year, Co Lee, will also be joining as a headliner. On the opening day, Analog Balaton, already a regular at Kráter, will kick off the weekend, followed by Frankónbsp;birthday party and public candle lighting ceremony. Lenkke_, the cult band Tudósok, and, as the seventh and final act, Дeva will perform a sunset set – the perfect ending to an intense summer season.

Life isn't just at night

Kráter does not rest during the day either: this year, visitors can enjoy new, entertaining daytime programs. The more adventurous can try their hand at Gólyasakk or Yolog, while the more creative can join the Do Festivaland the NFG Club's three-day improvisational dance workshop. The light installations are designed by the festival's own "light artists," , while the musical accompaniment will be improvised on the spot by Slovak guest artists.

Nighttime vibrations

When night falls, Kráter reveals its true colors: favorite local DJs and collectives – including Technokool, Raasa, Balázs Zságer, DJ Titusz, Slym & Szoliver, Rozalina & Gingershot, and the legendary Vedat will provide the rhythm. The organizers of Blue Sun, Kamarave, No Fear, and Tilos Rádiówill also be heading to Lake Balaton to bid farewell to summer together.

The power of a community

The festival is special not only because of its unique location and high-quality program, but also because it is a true community experience. As Dávid Ráday, one of the founders of Hello Wood and Krátér, says:

“Partying in the crater of a former basalt mine is not an everyday experience. We were also affected by the news of last week's festival, but we believe that if there are more and more of us, it will give us a lot of strength to continue."

This year, the venue is easily accessible by various means of transport, so no one will miss out on the summer festival.

The Kráter Festival is not just a weekend of music – it is a visual, auditory, and social experience that simply cannot be compared to anything else. Those who bid farewell to summer here will long remember the echo of the rhythms enclosed within the basalt walls.

Date: August 22-24.
