Long Table Picnic 2025
Two years ago, the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program was launched, Hungary's largest community picnic was held for the first time. The Long Table picnic has become an iconic event, so the city of Veszprém organized it again this year.
Among the shady trees of Veszprém Valley, a table set for a mile and a half awaited all those who wanted to spend a beautiful summer afternoon in a pleasant atmosphere, enjoying delicious food in good company. The Long Table Picnic is for everyone: children, seniors, dogs, cats, couples, families, groups of friends or company teams. The event aims to bring people together while also giving them the opportunity to get to know the unique features of Veszprém and the Bakony-Balaton region.
As in the past two years, the organizers provided tables for six to eight people, covered with tablecloths, and each participant was free to decide how to decorate their table with delicacies and decorations. The truly enthusiastic decorators and chefs could even test their skills, as the Regional Delicacies Competition was announced again this year, with the winners receiving a variety of valuable prizes.
In addition to the abundance of delicious food and drinks, this year there were also several interesting activities, such as garden tours, forest walks, interactive games and presentations, which were part of the official supporting program of the event, the Biodiversity Festival.
