It's harvest time – Take a trip among picturesque vineyards!

When it's autumn, it's harvest time, and when it's harvest time, it's time for Balaton grapes in abundance!
The area is dotted with countless chapels, trails, and hiking routes through the most beautiful vineyard-covered countryside. Here are some of our favorites.
Above us, the basalt organs; below us, the vineyards – Szent György Hill
Stopping at the Lengyel Chapel on Szent György Hill and setting off on the we only need to walk a few meters to enjoy a breathtaking view. Above us is the colorful forest and the basalt organs, below us the characteristic preshas built in the 17th-18th centuries, and the vineyards still green in September, in October-November, the vineyards are already orange, and then there is the chapel, Lake Balaton, and Szigliget. On sunny afternoons and at sunset, it is worth coming up here and immersing yourself in the warm light and the view.

In the footsteps of Béla Hamvas – The vineyards of Berény
Béla Hamvas wrote his work The Philosophy of Wine in the shade of the vineyards of Berény, from where he could see the hills of the northern shore and where he was able to observe more than one harvest season. Today, Hamvas Béla's student guards the memory of the writer on the vineyard hill , which leads all the way to Balatonkeresztúr, offering a magnificent view of the lake and the northern shore , the swaying grapevines and the centuries-old press houses.
Where we stumble upon vineyards at every turn – Kishegy in Balatonlelle
Wherever we turn on Kishegy in Lelle, we come across vineyards. This is where the region's finest wines are made, predominantly from red grapes. If you visit this area, it is worth walking up to the Majthényi Présház, built in the 18th century, and the neighboring St. Donatus Chapel. Saint Donát is considered the patron saint of winegrowers and winemakers, as from here we can see not only the endless vineyards , but also the hilly and valleyed silhouette of Badacsony and the northern shore. At sunrise and sunset, the play of light and shadow creates a truly magical scene.
The timeless Badacsony
When the words grape, wine, Lake Balaton, and excursion appear in the same sentence, Badacsony is probably the first place that comes to mind, as grapes can be found everywhere on the hills. If you enjoy the vineyards and the view, and last but not least, you want to capture the scenery, it is worth passing the Kisfaludy House and turn right onto Radnóti Miklós Street to the Badacsonyi Szépkilátó Borozó. Here, there are dozens of rows of grapevines under our feet, which we can even walk through, and in front of us is nothing but the sparkling Lake Balaton.

The name says it all – Balatonszőlős
True to its name, Balatonszőlős is an excellent wine-growing region, where estates dotted with vineyards and vineyards are hidden at every turn. Entering the village and heading up Fő Street from the crossroads, you will see vineyards everywhere. It is worth heading towards Papok Borozó where the road leads through lush vineyards and offers an unforgettable view not only of the vineyards but also of Lake Balaton.
