Napfonat is a special spot of colour in the Hungarian musical palette, as the formation is a meeting of five singers, five female figureheads, a creative community, who together work in the broad and diverse genre of world music.

They perform their own compositions as well as folk songs from Hungarian and other cultures, dressed in polyphonic sound. The uniqueness of their music lies in the interweaving of singing voices and the important role played by percussion instruments.

They debuted in the spring of 2021 with their first album, Szól a világ (The World Sings), which was released by Hangvető and was nominated for the 2022 Fonogram - Hungarian Music Award in the category of Hungarian World or Folk Music Album of the Year.

The girls have conquered the Hungarian popular and world music stages in recent years. They have performed at the Bánkitó, Fishing on Orfű, Valley of Arts, Everness, Campus and Sziget festivals. They have been invited several times to perform as guests of Bea Palya, featuring in 2 songs on her latest album Lélekzet. They have been selected as winners of Hangfoglaló Programme for 2020.

In September 2021, at the invitation of Sena Dagadu, they performed at the International Eucharistic Congress in St. Stephen's Basilica of Budapest, and then before the closing Mass of Pope Francis in Heroes' Square. In May 2022, they gave a concert together again in the Hungarian House of Music in a special African-Hungarian programme. In 2021, they were invited guests of the long-running folk and world music gala "Celebration of Folk Music" in the Palace of Arts, and in the same year they gave concerts in Poland and the Czech Republic, and also performed their Advent programme abroad in a 3-stage tour of Finland and Estonia.

Their second album will be released in the spring of 2023, written in the theme of the 4 elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air). The precursor of the album, "Like a shower", was selected as one of the 8 best performances in the final of DAL 2022.

Members of Napfonat: Heni Szalay, Anita Szarka, Eszter Tóth, Orsi Tóth, and Krisztina Volkova.

The concert is supported by the National Cultural Fund's Hangfoglaló Programme.
