In Space and Time, the exhibition of László Hajdú

In Space and Time, the temporary exhibition of László Hajdú painter at the Modern Art Gallery - László Vass Collection presents compositions from the artist's various periods.
The Munkácsy prize-winning painter graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts between 1957-63, where he was a student of Jenő Barcsay, alongside György Kádár and Endre Domanovszky. Since 1969 he has been living in Szentendre Art Park. He is a founding member of the Szentendre Graphic Workshop and the Artéria Gallery Cultural Association.
His geometric abstract paintings are built from dots and lines. He considers himself a painter without objects, who is primarily concerned with the representation of space. The densely grooved curves or diagonally running grids of lines on his canvases create dynamic compositions. The geometric forms sometimes carry associations with architectural elements, and the surfaces, enriched with engravings and applications, are transformed into spatial objects.
His works can be found in the Hungarian National Gallery, the Ferenczy Museum, the Paks Gallery, the Kolozsváry Collection in Győr and the Modern Art Gallery - László Vass Collection.
The exhibition is on view: 22 June, 2025
