DESCRIPTION:At a secluded little hotel\, popular novelist Paul Sheldon has
just finished his latest book and\, paying no heed to the harsh winter w
eather\, happily sets off on his journey. But on a deserted Colorado high
way\, Paul’s car plunges into a ravine and would slowly be buried by the
deep snow if a local woman\, Annie Wilkes\, hadn’t found him. She pulls t
he immobilized writer from the wreckage and takes him home so she can nur
se him back to health.\nIt seems Paul is truly incredibly lucky\, since h
e survived the accident\, and Annie is not only a trained nurse but\, by
her own admission\, the writer’s biggest fan. Until he can walk again\, P
aul is forced to stay at Annie’s house\, since the roads have been closed
due to constant snowstorms\, and even telephone service to the outside w
orld has been cut off. Paul is therefore completely dependent on Annie\,
who is\, of course\, overjoyed that her beloved writer is enjoying her ho
spitality.\nHe may have escaped the accident\, but Paul is slowly forced
to realize that his ordeal is far from over: there are more and more stra
nge signs and oppressive circumstances\, and Annie’s enthusiasm runs much
deeper—and is far more demonic—than mere teenage fangirl adoration.\nThe
original Broadway production was created by Warner Bros. Theatre Venture
s\, in association with Castle Rock Entertainment\, Liz Glotzer\, Mark Ka
 ufmann\, Martin Shafer\, and Raymond Wu.\nThe play’s world premiere was s
taged by Executive Producer Jed Bernstein at the Bucks County Playhouse (
New Hope\, Pennsylvania\, USA).\nIn Hungary\, the play is being staged th
rough THEATRUM MUNDI Theater and Literary Agency\nwww.theatrum-mundi.hu\n
The stage adaptation was created by Csaba Tasnádi and Krisztina Kovács\,
 based on Krisztina Kovács’s translation.
