One of the most prominent figures in the international blues scene of our time, Big Daddy Wilson has had a very special life. Hailing from tiny, isolated and very poor Edenton, North Carolina, Wilson was introduced to the blues during his time in the army in Germany. A reclusive, poor Southern boy, his first songs and poems were written for the heart of a German girl thousands of miles from his homeland. The blues dissolved his inhibitions, and soon his warm, soulful singing voice made him a fixture at jam nights across Germany. Since then he has released more than a dozen studio albums, with hit songs such as Walk a Mile In My Shoes, Cross Creek Road and Thumb a Ride.
