The term 'parentification' refers to the phenomenon whereby family roles are reversed and children are given tasks that involve responsibilities that are not appropriate for their age.

In such cases, the child becomes a 'little adult' whose invisible mission is to balance the family emotionally and physically. These children have had their childhood stolen from them, which has a long-term detrimental effect on their adult lives and relationships.

If a significant portion of your time is spent on solving problems and tasks, because you take responsibility for the lives of others... if everyone else is more important to them than themselves... if you can't let go of control and constantly strive for perfection then this lecture is for you.
