A timeless festive soundscape meets live light in a unique space

Imagine a space where Zoltán Mizsei’s Gregorian voice meets live-generated light — where the silence of Christmas and the mystique of medieval melodies merge into a single breath.

The medieval chants of the Christmas season come vividly to life in a solo performance by church musician and composer Zoltán Mizsei. His Gregorian singing fills the acoustic expanse of the Hexagon, occasionally complemented in real time with subtle electronic textures, gently reimagining the familiar Christmas experience.

The musical world is brought to completion by the glass-light visuals of Lili Anna Mizsei and Péter Kühn (Glowing Bulbs) in Fragile Circles. The lights, created in real time, respond rhythmically to the music, crafting a meditative, timeless festive atmosphere.

This performance marks the project’s first debut in Veszprém — an atmospheric encounter of sound, light and seasonal presence.

About the Artists

Zoltán Mizsei

A DLA-qualified church musician, composer, performer and educator, Mizsei is a defining figure in both contemporary and early music scenes. He is a lecturer at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, conductor of Schola Academica, and a member of several early and world music ensembles. In his solo performances, he fuses the Gregorian tradition with improvisation, and as a composer he creates music for dance and film. Through the Sonic City research project, he develops new forms of urban sound culture and interactive musical tools.

His work forms a bridge between past and present, tradition and experimentation, making him the ideal creative partner for this festive audiovisual project.

Lili Anna Mizsei

“I have always been inspired by the audiovisual expression of dreams and emotions. During my studies in film, I immersed myself in the world of experimental cinema, producing my first analogue work. Today, the dialogue between analogue and digital techniques continues to define my creations — either offering an escape from the fast-paced, digitalised world or establishing a harmonious connection between the two realms.

Péter Kühn (Glowing Bulbs)

“I often retreat into creation from the noise of everyday life. For me, art represents slowing down, reconnecting with oneself — whether through sculpture, graphic art or moving images. My aim is to bring others into this renewed space, a realm of silence, light and breathing time.
